Creation

This axiom has lead to creations such as dual, triple and sometimes quad transmission / transfer cases for a crawl ratios of thousands-to-one. Engines and transmissions have been relocated to the middle of the vehicle to make room for a triangle style coil spring front suspension with front and rear suspension travel measured in feet.

The goal is twofold:

1.       Optimal torque multiplication (and thereby peed division) for maximum crawler abilities.

2.     Speed multiplication (and torque division) for greater overdrive control which means fuel economy.

Two four speed transmissions are mated together along with a NP205 transfer case to give a very desirable low crawler gear and excellent overdrive selection to optimize the power of any engine design. This creation was designed so that the rear-most transmission (between the stock aluminum transmission and transfer case) is a HD cast iron unit to handle the increased torque multiplication. The HD transfer case handle nearly any load. Also, a fabricated  shifter mechanism was created and designed so that all transmissions can be shifted from inside the SUV.
